Medical Insurance and Self-Pay Details

Medical Insurance

Neil is recognised by all major medical insurance companies including BUPA, AXA-PPP, Aviva, Cigna, Vitality Health, Alliance Surgical, Exeter, WPA, Allianz.

In situations where we have not dealt with a specific smaller insurance company recognition is usually straightforward and should not delay your treatment. It is advised that you speak to your insurance company prior to any consultation in order to obtain a pre-authorisation code.

All charges fall within the relevant insurance company guidelines and there should be no shortfall apart from any excess agreements in the policy itself and certain policies that are cost/share

Self-Pay

If you are funding the cost of the private treatment individually, the cost of a new patient appointment is £185 and any further follow-up appointment £100. In addition you will be charged by the hospital for specific additional procedures that are required during the consultation.

The commonest out-patient procedure is fibreoptic examination of the nose or larynx which if required, the hospital charges £50 at the Spire Hospital.

If hearing testing is needed during the consultation, then this is provided by a separate company (Holt hearing and balance) and an additional charge from this company would apply, typically £63.75 and if pressure testing of the ear is needed in addition the charge incurred would be £46.75.
